Mitsubishi PajeroWelcome to Pajero.org.uk - One man's blog about living with a Mitsubishi Pajero.

On these pages you'll be able to find out about my day-to-day experiences of driving, servicing, fixing and off-roading with my Pajero. Plus anything else I can throw in that's related.

Please be sure to join in the fun - there's usually a comments box at the end of each article, so leave a thought about what I've written. I'd be interested to know about ways I can improve the site and perhaps things you'd like to see in it too. Click on the "Contact Me" link above to get in touch directly.

Mk1 Pajero From Australia

Mk1 Pajero From AustraliaI really like this Mk1 Pajero that’s being shared with us by owner Dan in Australia. Probably the colour that gets me most and I love the black wheels that go so well with it.

I’m wondering if this is a standard Mitsubishi colour as I don’t recall seeing it before. Answers in the comments box below please!

He’s got a pretty chunky bull bar on the front and I like the sticker in the back window - “Jeep Recovery Vehicle” :)

A Pajero Like Mine Except Longer

A Pajero Like Mine Except LongerJonas from Reykjavik in Iceland got in touch to ask about removing the back two seats in his long wheel base Pajero. He also sent a picture showing a Paj with a similar colour to my own.

It’s a later model to mine, with the blister arches. I quite like the nudge bar thingy on this one too and lack of chrome which is something I’d like to head towards sometime soon.

Mk1 Pajero - With History!

Mk1 Pajero - With History!Another Mk1, this time a LWB sent in by Michael, currently living in France.

Not in the best of shape this old girl, but with 255000 Kms on the clock, she’s not doing so bad!

I know of a few Pajeros with more miles on them, but not many. Just shows how long these cars can last if properly maintained. I’d love to think mine was still going after that distance.

MOT For The Pajero

MOTThat time of year again today - the dreaded MOT!

I didn’t know of anything obviously wrong with the car apart from a very minor niggle - needed some new windscreen wiper blades. So I got a new pair yesterday. After picking my lads up from school we got to work on giving the old car a good wash. I know it’s not going to make a difference to whether it passes or not, but I always do it anyway!

Mk1 Pajero Ex-Rally Car

Mk1 Pajero Ex-Rally CarI really love the Mk1 Pajeros and who knows, maybe one day I’ll own one. I especially love ones that are painted up in the old Paris-Dakar style.

So here we have a fantastic example of that sent in by Ad van Drunen. You can see from the photos that the car has gone through a few changes over the years. Brilliant photos too. You really get the atmosphere of the desert!

Seriously, I’d love something like this parked outside my house!

Pajero In Tanzania

Pajero In Tanzania
Another reader’s story, this time from Bwiko Kyriakos in Tanzania. Specifically the city of Dar es Salaam which sits on the eastern coast of the country.

I don’t know how common this colour of 2.8 TD Pajero is, but I’ve certainly not seen many like this. Looks great though and I’ll let Bwiko tell you about it in his own words:

Daz’s 2.8 Exceed

Pajero 2.8 ExceedDaz got in touch to tell me about his Mk2 2.8 LWB Exceed.

Apparently he’d always fancied an off-roader and when his wife suggested a people carrier for a second car, he didn’t need another invitation!

He also mentions that the site has been useful to him in the past and I certainly hope I can make it more so in the future.

That’s A Big One!

Pajero and CaravanThis is Edwin’s whopper of a rig, a Mk4 3.8 V6 Pajero tugging a Flagstaff caravan. He tells me the Paj is 4.9m and the caravan is 9.9m (including A-frame). By my calculations that makes a massive 14.8m in total, or about 48 feet.

Try doing a 3-point turn with that! “Tows like a dream though”.

Fun In The Snow

Snow PajeroBritain’s recently been in the grip of its worst snow storms for many years which has predictably resulted in total chaos! I mean, we’re only talking about a few inches, but the whole country is brought to a standstill. Thousands of schools closed and most businesses were affected in one way or another as employees supposedly couldn’t get into work. On top of that, local councils began to run out of grit (rock salt) to clear the roads, with one county buying in huge supplies of table salt!

But if you had a Pajero, things were much brighter! I had a great time. If I wasn’t power-sliding in rear wheel drive, I’d be climbing the steepest hills available in 4WD. I’ve been seriously amazed where my Pajero can go in the snow with my chunky mud tyres on. And very rarely did I need to do anything other than use standard 4WD. Hardly any need to use the low box.

Paul’s LWB Pajero

LWB PajeroPaul got in touch with me from Antarctica, where he’s currently working. While away from his St. Helena home he’s bought this nice looking blue over silver long wheel base Pajero.

The problem for Paul is that he has to wait a few weeks until he can go home and play with his new beast! But he’s already been buying new goodies for her. He also has plans to fix the peeling paintwork on the bonnet.
